Graphics aren’t showing properly

Outdated graphics card drivers can cause web graphics, including 3D content, and videos to run slowly or not at all.

To get the best graphics performance in Google Chrome, we recommend that you use the latest version of your operating system and apply all system updates.

Windows instructions

Not sure what graphics card you have? Type about:gpu in the address bar and look for the "szChipType" or "szDescription" field under Diagnostics table:

  1. Open Windows Update by using the Start menu's search box to search for it.

    Windows Update

  2. Click Check for updates in the dialog that appears.

    Windows Optional Update

  3. Install all latest available updates.
  4. In some cases, you may need to install the latest graphics card drivers either by looking for optional Windows Updates or through your graphic processing unit (GPU) manufacturer’s website (e.g. Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD/ATI).
Mac instructions

Install all system updates using Apple Software Update.
