This is a generative artificial intelligence (AI) tool that helps users write and express themselves more easily and effectively in free form text fields on the web.
To use this feature, users need to:
- Turn on Experimental AI
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Sign in to Chrome with a Google Account
- Turn on Make searches and browsing better
Configure generative AI settings in your Admin console
Before you begin: To configure settings for a specific group of user accounts or enrolled Chrome browsers, put the users or browsers in an organizational unit.

Sign in to your Google Admin console.
Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

In the Admin console, go to Menu

If you signed up for Chrome Browser Cloud Management, go to Menu

- To apply the setting to all users and enrolled browsers, leave the top organizational unit selected. Otherwise, select a child organizational unit.
- Scroll to Generative AI.
- Click the setting you want to configure. Learn about each generative AI setting.
- Click Save.
Settings typically take effect in minutes, but can take up to 24 hours to apply for everyone.
Admin console—Default values
The following table lists the default policy state for various customer categories that meet the above criteria. These policies can be updated by administrators in the Google Admin console.
