Pin messages, files & links in spaces & messages

You can pin your important messages, files, links, images, and videos in spaces and in direct messages with an individual or group with the Board tab in Chat.

• Pin what's important: You can place important messages, files, links, images, and videos on the Board.
• Access key items easily: To make sure that everything is neatly organized and easily curated, the Board is readily available at the right panel.
• Save time: To save time, important messages and files are always easily accessible.
• Use smart suggestions: To save time, use the suggestions feature to quickly find the best and most relevant files to pin.

Open a Chat board

1. On your computer, open Google Chat.
2. Open any conversation or space.
3. At the top right, click Board .

Pin or unpin a message

1. On your computer, open Google Chat.
2. Open any conversation or space.
3. Click the message you want to pin More actions Pin to board .

   • To unpin, click Unpin .

Pin a file or link

1. On your computer, open Google Chat.
2. In Chat, open any conversation or space.
3. At the top right, click Board Add resource .
4. To upload a file from Drive, select Upload or attach from Drive.
   1. Select the file name.
   2. Click Insert.
   3. In the pop up, to give access, select Share with people.
   4. Click Share.
5. To add a URL, select Link.
   1. In the pop up, enter the link and the link title.
   2. Click Add Link.
