Steps for tracking
For each element you want to track, follow these steps:
-
Create a display placement with 1x1-pixel dimensions. The placement should be created in Campaign Manager 360 for the site which has the element you want to track.
-
Add a display creative with an image asset.
Upload a transparent 1x1-pixel GIF or JPEG as your image asset. Your new creative will automatically be used to create the default ad that's assigned to all 1x1-pixel placements in your campaign. Note that you only need to do this step once per campaign. The default ad will automatically be assigned to any new 1x1-pixel placements you create.
-
Create a click tracker ad in your campaign.
-
Assign the click tracker to the placement you created in Step 1.
-
Generate tags for your placement. Export standard tags and click tracker tags.
-
Follow steps to organize your tags:.
-
Edit the standard tags before you send them to the publisher. Remove the
<A HREF...>
tag, and send only the<IMG SRC...>
tag. Tell the publisher to implement the standard tag so that it will be called each time the item you're tracking is displayed to a user. -
