I keep getting repeated notifications for the same event

I get a notification and a sound, indicating that a calendar event is coming up. I click close and then a minute or so later, the same notification comes up again, interrupting my work. I clear it again by hitting close and it doesn't go away, so I have to hit the x button in the corner. Then it goes away, but a minute later, I am notified again with a ding and a pop up that this event is happening. This is greatly frustrating me.

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I am ready to murder my calendar notifications.

Hi User lots-of-digits,

You can have up to 5 notifications for each event, so firstly, please check that you don't have multiple notifications set up for each event. Even if you didn't do that, a 'friend' might have...

Check in 'Event notifications' against each calendar you use.

If that's not the case, please try logging in to Calendar (https://calendar.google.com) via a Private/Incognito window, making sure you close your current browser of choice.

Do you get multiple notifications now? If not, it may be that your browser cache has got confused, and clearing the cache might resolve things.

Please let us know how you get on.

Oh, and don't murder notifications - I'm sure they're innocent!

Thank you, Patrick!

I appreciate your humor! I've update my profile so I'm not just a bunch of numbers anymore.

I'll try this out and let you know how it goes.

And I have to admit that you're right. The notifications are innocent little helpers working away.
