Create and view Tasks in Calendar apps

You can create, view, and modify tasks on your computer or mobile Google Calendar apps.

Create a task

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. On the left, under “My calendars,” make sure Tasks is checked.
  3. In your calendar, click on an empty slot. In the top left, you can also click create Create event.
  4. Click Task.
  5. Enter in a title and description.
  6. To add the new task to a specific task list, choose one.
  7. Click Save.

View, edit, or delete tasks

View your tasks

You'll find tasks you create in the side panel for Google Calendar and the Tasks app.

Google Calendar

You'll find your tasks in the Google Calendar on the date and time your task is scheduled.

Tasks from other Google products

Tasks you create in Tasks app on the right sidebar in Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, or Slides, as well  as Tasks mobile apps  will also show in Google Calendar.

Tip: To view tasks on Google calendar, make sure you choose a date during task creation. 

Edit a task

Important: To see Tasks on Google Calendar, on the left, make sure Tasks is checked.

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the task you want to update.
  3. Click Edit task Edit task.
  4. Update any task details.
  5. Click Save.

Remove a task

To remove a task from your calendar, you can either mark it as complete or delete it.

Mark a task as complete

When you mark a task as complete, it stays on that date on your calendar but is crossed out.

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the task you want to update.
  3. Click Mark as complete.

Delete a task

When you delete a task, it will be removed completely.

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the task you want to update.
  3. Click Delete task Delete task.

Hide all tasks

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. Under "My Calendars," turn off Tasks.
