Change Google Calendar settings

To change the way Calendar looks or works, update your settings.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Calendar app .
2. Tap Menu Settings General.

Setting name	What’s it for
Start of the week	Set the start day of your calendar week. Learn more about view settings.
Use device time zone	Make your calendar use your device’s time zone. If you turn this off, you can select a time zone yourself. Learn how to change time zones.
Time zone	Select a time zone for your calendar. If you turn on “Use device time zone,” you can’t select a time zone. Learn how to change time zones.
Alternate calendar	Use a different type of calendar, like: Chinese Hebrew Hijiri Indian Korean Persian Learn how to add or remove alternate calendars.
Show week number	Shows the number of the week on your calendar.
Show declined events	Shows the events you said “No” to on your calendar.
Show completed tasks	Shows the tasks that you complete on your calendar. Learn more about tasks in Calendar.
Display shorter entries the same size as 30 minute entries	Make events that are less than 30 minutes the same size as 30-minute events.
Show event illustrations	Show illustrations on some events, like birthdays.
Default event duration	You can set the default time span for the new events. For non-Google accounts, it's one hour.
Adding invitations	Choose who can send you invites to your calendar. Learn how to manage invitations in Calendar.
Add video conferencing	Use Google Meet or another video conference add-on for your events. Learn how to add or remove a video conference from your Calendar event.
Theme	You can set the theme of your calendar to light or dark, or match your device’s theme. Learn how to use Dark theme in Calendar.
Calendar notifications	Change how Calendar tells you about events. Learn how to change Calendar notifications.
Tasks notifications	Change how you get notifications for Tasks. Learn how to change Calendar notifications.

Quick responses	To give a quick response to event guests, select or make changes to a response.
Share Google Calendar data with other apps	Decide if other apps can access your calendar info. You can share all the info or none. Learn more about calendar data sharing.
