poor review from non customer

Someone who has not used our service has left a one start review on Google. What can I do? It is the only negative review for my new business.
In summary, they claimed to have made a booking for a Sunday, when we are closed. We never confirmed any such booking and on our website we clearly show we are closed. Nevertheless, we offered a free session, which they then didn't use. I'm suspicious the review is from a competitor, as the reviewer has not reviewed any other company.

It is extremely unlikely that Google will remove a negative review because often people use anonymous usernames online and there isn't any way to prove their identity. What I would suggest is posting a response after you read this article that gives a ton of great tips on how to reply:

Google really needs to do something, the it's required to contact or reply if questions are asked or the f#### fake reviews need to be deleted.

I have had a lot of problems with these anonymous Internet assess with no manners....

I can't remember what restaurant this happened to, but I read a review that was 1 Star and the comment was something like "Great Food, Excellent Service...."  I guess they didn't understand the star system. Someone from the restaurant replied asking them to please adjust the Star rating to reflect their experience and at that time it hadn't been done (about 3 months after the review).  All the comments/replies from the owner make no difference when it comes to the overall star rating, which I think is pretty sad.  It doesn't take a lot for a 1 Star rating to throw off a bunch of 5 Stars.  Google needs a better way to dispute or remove these bogus reviews in a timely fashion.  While they're at it, do we even need 2, 3 or 4 Stars?  Happy people choose 5 Stars, upset people choose 1 Star.  How many times to you see anything in between???

We are having similar issue. There is someone (we have no idea who) that is posting 1 start review on our restaurant. There are more than 11 reviews with same complain in a similar pattern. The complain does not even apply to our restaurant. However, all these 11 accounts have no more than 2-5 reviews and they all have given 5 start to another restaurant that is completely outside of our area and serves totally different food than ours. We are so frustrated as we really work hard to make sure our customers are happy and leave us a positive reviews. We have a lot of genuine reviews but since last 2 weeks this person had decided to post a negative review every time I get a positive review. I have flagged them, reported google many times, talked to them on the phone but nothing is working out. Really need some help.

The power of the internet with these "twisted reviews" is out of hand. I just got one on myself where a prospective client did not want to pay the advertised internet price on a vehicle, so I bought it and paid full asking price that the dealership I work at was asking, not 1 penny less did I pay. That's called not good business?
The customer was mad? Before I bought it he told me he could find them cheaper and that's wrong? Well he was wrong, period. It was a special build with 8k in adds which were pointed out to him...hope he likes that other cheaper car after slamming me and giving the company I work at a negative rating for me paying full asking price. Should be able to delete the BS

We had  clients who travelle to Africa from the Netherlands, and we did all our best to make them have an enjoybale vacation, even went to the extent of paying for their extra luggage as they switched flights. Upon their return, they wrote a very disturbing reveiw such that uptill now am not getting it. They accused of getting their money and gave nothing in return, that they received the flight tickets in the post, that we could not answer any questions that they had for us and that the tickets were ripped off hard copies, such that they could not see the other companies name. I felt sick to my stomach, i contated Google and they followed up with a call in which i was assured the review will be put down (thursday last week 5) had had back and forth emailing with Google and just today 12-12-2019 in email am told they will not remove the review because they see nothing wrong with it, it is not violating Google Review Policies. So is lying one of Googles review Policies?
I even sent copies of evidence to them but my claims have been disregarded.

I run a small, very new business. I recently started hiring my first employees and had many applicants, many of whom I could not get to since I was only looking to hire 3-4 people. One person in particular called and emailed me quite a lot. I responding to his email assuring him that I received his resume and that I'd look it over. Needless to say he was not a candidate I was interested in and I ultimately forgot to get back to him (my bad, but I've applied to many positions in the past and heard nothing back). Fast forward to a few weeks later and I receive a 3 star review from this same guy. He even used his actual name and did not post it anonymously. I know 3 stars isn't all bad but up until now I've only gotten 5 star reviews and I'm a new company in a competitive market so this bothered me quite a lot. Is there a way to get this removed? This guy never received any services from my company (which I can prove) and I have the emails to prove he applied to my company. Thanks

The problem I have is that the person who has left me a 1* review has admitted they are not a customer and still wont remove the review just because they are lazy...
Why on earth don't Google have a more comprehensive way of managing their reviews. I can easly prove this person is not a customer of mine...

I am the founder of Pune Pet Park.  This Park has been built for pet owners who would like services that are normally not available anywhere,  however, to be more exclusive we have made it a policy that a pet owner needs to be a member of the park of late we have been receiving threats of posting bad reviews as we do not allow people to enter the park as it is not open to the public.  The negative reviews continue to happen with no explanation but a single star.  Can this be removed?

How do I delete a review on google my business? The mother of my children is purposely trying to give me bad reviews to drop my ratings . I have tried to send a report about this but I have gotten no response and the review is still there . My ratings have gone from 5 star to 1 star because of her changing her first previous review which was excellent but of course this is when we were still in a relationship. I feel this is a conflict of interest and I have reported it but like I said I haven’t recurved anything and everyday it’s still there my rating is being destroyed because of personal matters and jealousy. Please help me with this I don’t see how it’s even allowed or fair for her to do this just because she wants to make things harder and miserable for me all around .

Same thing- I have a negative review from someone who my business has never dealt with.  They appear to have the business mixed up with a transaction from someone else nearby.  I flagged it, and hopefully, it gets taken down.
