How to hide my address when filling Google my Business Form

I run a home business wherein we provide marketing services to clients at their address. Hence I do not want to show my address in search results.

I read an answer by Google which said
  1. Sign in to Google My Business and choose the listing you’d like to manage.
  2. Click Info at the top of the page.
  3. Click the Address section.
  4. In the window that appears, select the box next to "I deliver goods and services to my customers at their locations."
  5. Enter your service area information. You can set your service area based on the zip codes or cities that you serve, or on a given area around your location.
    • Select the box next to “I serve customers at my business address” if you want your complete address to appear on Google and your business location is staffed and able to receive customers during its stated hours.
  6. Click Save.

Now my issue is that the minute I choose listing type, opens up a form with the map in the background, asking me to fill in my business details along with the exact address.

Now in this I see no "Info" button that I can click on and move with the suggested procedure.

Thanks Kassandra!  Everyone this works:

Ok!  Click the info tab > address > click Clear Address > click apply! It should update that area to say "pending no business location customers can visit"

Hi nihnamrata Dalvi,

If your business is online only then it's not eligible for a Google My Business listing. You should contact support and ask them to remove the listing if that is the case.

You can contact Google My Business support using one of these options:

To TomW - Please tell me exactly what makes you an expert because Google's posted instructions AND instructions I've received in a direct email from support all say that you CAN list your business if you do not have a physical location. Every expert's answer on this forum is a different one. Where exactly can we find the "correct" answers?

I had the same issue, I found this information which may help. I set a 'service area' and I used the marker on the map (drag it to an appropriate position) to select my 'address' which it then listed as my suburb - happy with that. It's currently 'under review' so we'll see if it works...

I figured it out you have to click on "Clear Address" all the way at the bottom and then click "Apply" this will set you as I deliver good and services.

yeah, looks like a recent update by google when they changed the "service areas" from a distance radius from your address to entering "service locations" by postcode or name.

my previously hidden addresses (the businesses i manage are all trades who visit sites) on my listings have all appeared on google (thanks Google!!) so i had to go in and (as Joanna mentioned) "clear address" and "apply" to stop the address from appearing on Google Maps anymore.

I work from home and go to customers as a handyman (handywoman). My account was suspended because I used the street address for my PO Box because I don't have an office or storefront. I entered my street address but there is NO OPTION to keep my home address from becoming public.
I entered the service area but again NO OPTION to keep my address private.
This is what it says
"Business location
Let customers see your business location on Google by adding a street address. You can leave this empty if you don't have a location such as a storefront or office."

But you can't leave it empty and can't hide it-can anyone help?

Hi Deb,

Can you try clicking on the 'clear address' button and see if that will work?

That should clear all of the address fields and allow you to hit 'apply' to save.

After you have made the change you can submit a reinstatement request here: https://support.google.com/business/troubleshooter/2690129

Yes!  What TomW recommended.
I don't think you have to even reinstate it anymore.  If you hit clear, it should update automatically.

yes, to get rid of your address, simply got to Info, click the address element and scroll down to "clear". once you hit clear you'll see a warning that people can still search for you but you wont have an address. Hit OK and you're all set! took me a while but that last post helped! thanks!
