About phone calls from the Google Assistant
Customers can ask the Google Assistant to make phone calls on their behalf, for tasks like booking an appointment or checking your business hours. The Assistant will confirm any necessary details with the customer and call your business to fulfill the customer's request.
This feature is being tested for some business categories in the US. Google offers this feature free of charge, to help connect businesses and customers.
Customers can use this feature on:
- Android devices running version 5.0 or newer
- iPhones with the Google Assistant installed

How it works
When customers use the Google Assistant to find your business, they can ask the Assistant to book an appointment or check information about your business.
Booking an appointment
If the customer wants to book an appointment, the Assistant will confirm specific details like the customer's preferred time, type of service, or size of party. Once this information is confirmed, the Assistant will try to book an appointment with your business by using an online booking partner (if available) or by calling your business using the automated voice-calling technology Duplex (calls are recorded for quality assurance).
Checking business information
If customers ask for information like your business hours, the Assistant will check to see if you've updated that information on Google. If it's not updated, Google may call your business to confirm the information using the automated voice-calling technology Duplex (calls are recorded for quality assurance), and may update your business listing on Google Search and Maps.

Google offers this feature free of charge, to help connect businesses and customers. But if you’d prefer your business not receive automated calls from the Google Assistant, you can tell us over the phone or change your settings in Google My Business:
When you get a phone call from the Google Assistant, you can tell the Assistant that you don't want to receive any more calls. For example, you can say:
- "Please remove my business from your list."
- "Please stop calling my business
- Sign in to Google My Business.
- If you haven't verified your business, you'll need to do so in order to opt out.
- Click Info from the menu.
- Under "Google Assistant calls", uncheck the box for Accept Google Assistant calls.

How will I know the call is from Google?
At the start of the call, you'll hear the reason for the call and that the call is from Google. You can expect the call to come from an automated system or, in some cases, a manual operator.

How often will the Google Assistant call me?
The Google Assistant will only call you when a customer wants to book an appointment or when it needs to check your business hours. The Assistant will avoid calling you during late night and early morning hours.
