You can use your Business Profile to directly communicate relevant and timely information to your customers. The following policies help make sure published content, including text, photos, and videos, creates a positive experience for customers.
You're responsible for making sure that your posted content complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
We occasionally modify these policies, so please check back here for any updates. We'll provide notice of such changes if required by applicable law.
Avoid prohibited and restricted content
When an author posts on behalf of a business, their content should follow all the guidelines described here. Submitted photos and videos are also subject to additional criteria.
Avoid "phone stuffing"
To avoid the risk of abuse, we do not allow your post content to include a phone number. You can make your phone number available on your Business Profile or website.
Instead, you can attach a "Call now" button to your post that uses your verified Business Profile phone number.
Hotel posts
- Hotel businesses can create local posts to provide relevant, timely info to customers. Examples of helpful posts include COVID-19 protocols, updates to amenities or renovations, and events that take place on the property.
- Hotels can’t create “offer” posts, or any post that suggests the existence of or that links out to deals, promotions, special offers, or discounts. This ensures that customers don’t get confused about where to navigate on the hotel placesheet to find organic and ad prices from partners.
Ensure support link compliance
All support link campaigns must adhere to the above policies. This includes the gift card and donation link policies as well as the privacy policy.
