Manage data sharing for business personalization

You can control how your Google Business Profile data is shared across Google business products with business personalization. If you’re an owner or manager of a business, you can choose to opt out of this setting at any time.

Important: The business data sharing setting started rolling out globally in January 2025 and is expected to reach general availability by March 2025.

Understand how data for business personalization is used

With business personalization on, you allow Google to access your Business Profile data to provide you with recommendations for other Google business products, like Analytics and Ads.

This data can include information about how you’ve set up your Business Profile, as well as your Profile’s performance data.

You’re in control of the data you share. If you’re an owner or manager of a Business Profile, you can opt out of business personalization at any time by turning “Share data” off. The opt out is a profile-level setting, so your change will be reflected for all members across the account. This means if an owner or manager opts out, then the profile itself will be opted out of business personalization across products. If an owner or manager subsequently opts in, then the profile will be opted in to business personalization from that time.

Opt out of business personalization

To update your business personalization preferences:

  1. Go to your Business Profile. Learn how to find your profile.
  2. Click Menu More and then Business Profile settings and then Advanced settings.
  3. Under “Recommendations for your business,” turn off Share data.
