Appeal Business Profile content & profile restrictions

To maintain high quality information on Google, we may moderate Business Profiles and Business Profile content that violate our guidelines. You might have the option to appeal certain types of profile restrictions and content moderation decisions, including content rejections.

Before you begin

Check your verification status

If you haven’t verified your Business Profile, content associated with your Business Profile might not appear across Google. Before you submit an appeal, check your verification status.

Prepare your evidence

If you plan to include evidence as part of your appeal, we recommend that you prepare the documents before submitting an appeal.

After you submit your appeal in the appeals tool, you’ll be prompted to add optional evidence to a linked form to support your appeal. The request to add evidence occurs at the end of the appeals process. You must submit the evidence within 60 minutes of submitting your appeal.

Depending on the context of your appeal, the following are examples of evidence that can help strengthen your appeal:

  • Official business registration
  • A business license
  • Tax certificates
  • Utility bills for the business such as:
    • Electricity
    • Phone
    • Cable
    • Internet

Tip: For any documents you submit as evidence, check that the business name and address match the profile you want to make an appeal for.

  • If your Google Account or Business Profile is restricted, it must be reinstated before you can appeal any content decisions. Learn how to fix suspended or disabled Profiles.
  • Appeal reviews and decisions can take up to 5 business days. Do not submit multiple appeals for the same issue before receiving a decision.
