Choose the voice of your Google Assistant
You can change the sound of your Google Assistant’s voice. Changing the voice setting will apply to all of your Google Assistant devices.
Google Assistant on phone or tablet
Important: For now, this feature isn't available in all languages.
- On your Android phone or tablet, touch and hold the Home button or say "OK Google."
- In the bottom right, tap

- In the top right, tap your profile picture or initial

Google Assistant on speaker or Smart Display
Important: For now, this feature isn't available in all languages.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Home app
.
- At the bottom, tap Account

- Choose a voice.
Turn off speech output
When you turn off Speech Output, your Google Assistant will show you responses on your phone, but it won't say them out loud. If you want to stop your Google Assistant from replying with sound, you can change your settings.
- On your Android device, touch and hold the Home button or say "OK Google" or "Hey Google."
- In the bottom right, tap

- Under "Voice and speech," tap Speech Output.
- Tap Hands-free only.
