Create an app using Google Forms

This is a beta release of creating apps and building automations using Google Forms. See Track and manage feature releases. Beta offerings are intended for use in test environments only. This feature is not recommended for use in production apps. For questions or assistance with this feature, contact AppSheet Support.

You must be a Google Workspace user to build AppSheet automations with Google Forms. See Add AppSheet to Google Workspace.

If you are using your Google Workspace account, the Google Workspace Terms of Service govern your use of Google Forms. Otherwise, refer to the Google Terms of Service.

If you copy an app that is connected to a form from Google Forms and you select to copy app data, the form responses are not included in the copied form.

Create an app using Google Forms by performing the following steps.

1	Create a form using Google Forms	First, create a form using Google Forms. See How to use Google Forms.   By default, a form built using Google Forms doesn't collect email addresses. This may be suitable for surveys where anonymous feedback is acceptable or preferred. For scenarios where it is important to know the identity of the user submitting the form, configure the form to collect respondents' email addresses.
2	Create an app from the form	Sign in to AppSheet. The My Apps page is displayed. Select Create > App > Start with existing data. The Create a new app dialog is displayed.  Enter the name of the app and optionally select a category. Click Choose your data. The Select data source dialog is displayed. Click Google Forms (Beta). The Select a file dialog is displayed. Navigate to the form and click Select. Your new app is created and opened in the AppSheet app editor.
