I own a Bluetooth headset (headphones with builtin mic) with a button that triggers the connected device's voice assistant.

When connected to an Android phone, this successfully invokes Google Assistant (over the headset's audio input/output).

When connected to my Android Wear 2.0 watch, nothing happens. I can use Google Assistant on the watch directly (by holding down the watch's physical button), but not via the headset (as I can on the phone).

Leave feedback in AW app letting them know. Could be this functionality just doesnt exist.

The headsets button is configured as a trigger for answering/ending phone calls, or opens a communication channel for you to speak a command.  (If the headset and watch are paired), then the watch is waiting for a command.  However, what is necessary for you to use the Assitant in this manner, you will need to turn on "Ok Google" detection, located in your System > Personalization settings.

*Note, that when your headset is paired, the microphone on your watch will be temporarily disabled.
