Here’s where you can find information on what Android Pay does to keep your payment info safe and what to do about lost or stolen phones and unauthorized charges.

Here are a few ways Android Pay works to keep your information safe.
Your payment information is encrypted and stored on secure servers.
Each payment card you add gets a virtual account number that merchants see when you buy. Your payment information isn’t shared with merchants.
Delete unused cards
If your device has been turned off, lost, or otherwise inactive in the last 90 days, then cards will be deleted for your security.
You'll need to set up a screen lock on your device before you add cards. If you turn screen lock off, Android Pay removes your cards for your protection.
To make most purchases, you need to unlock your phone. You won't need to unlock your phone for certain small payments.
Payment limits on a locked device
Depending on where you live, you can make a payment up to the amount listed below without unlocking your device.

Find and secure a phone
Whenever your phone is unlocked, it can be used to make purchases with Android Pay. If your phone is lost or stolen, you can find, lock, or erase it using Android Device Manager.
If you lock your device, Android Pay can't be used. If your device can't be contacted, your payment information might be removed so no one can access it. If you find your device, unlock it and add your payment information again to use Android Pay.
Since Android Pay doesn't store your card details on your phone, anyone who finds or steals your phone won't be able to access that information, even if it's unlocked.
If you see a charge on your card statement for an Android Pay transaction that you didn't make, contact your card-issuing bank.
Stop using Android Pay
If you no longer want to use Android Pay, you can either remove it or disable it depending on your device.
- On your device, go to your Settings app > Applications > Application manager.
- On some devices, you might need to go to your Settings app > Apps > Android Pay.
- Tap Android Pay.
- Tap Uninstall.
- If Android Pay came preinstalled on your device, tap Disable.
Participating merchants accept Android Pay for in-app purchases of goods and services. Google discloses to participating apps whether or not you have Android Pay set up on your device so that merchants know whether to offer you Android Pay as a payment option in their apps. Android Pay does not share your credit or debit card number or transaction history with the merchant.
Google may also provide your device, payment, location, and account info to your card's issuer and payment network in accordance with the Google Payments Privacy Notice.
