Since android auto was updated on 3/18/19 I have not been able to answer incoming phone calls

I am having the same issue. I have a 2018 Ford F150 w/Sync 3. When using Andriod Auto connected via USB I can't answer incoming phone calls. This started approx 2 weeks ago.

Same problem. I have a 2019 Ford Fusion with Sync 3 and cannot accept calls through Android Auto. I have paired the phone traditionally, through bluetooth, and also tried pairing the phone with a cable. Neither method has worked. I can make calls, but when the calls come in there is only silence. I'm on the road for work a lot and this is becoming a major problem for me. Any fix yet?

Hey I am facing the same issue

I have the oneplus 7 pro running Android 9 oxygen os 9.5.9

I am not able to recieve incoming calls in my car. No audio goes through or comes.

Work when I remove cable and switch to handset mode

No problem with outgoing calls

Please provide fix!

Same problem for me but only for the last few weeks. I'm surprised to see that the problem has been known since March. I use Android auto every time I'm in the car.

I have a Pixel 3XL and a 2017 Ford Escape with the latest software on both the phone and the Ford. Calls come in but I must switch to speakerphone for either of us to hear each other. That is, no sound in either direction.

The screen works normally and sound is the only problem.

Just open AA, go to settings / auto reply, and enter "Sorry I can't answer your call because I'm using Android Auto"

I'm having this same problem. Just got a 2017 Cruze with the Chevy MyLink. I could answer just fine over regular Bluetooth. Then I set up Android Auto and when I hit the answer button on my steering wheel it will answer but not play sounds over the car audio although it mutes the music.

If I use the cars screen and click on "use handsfree" the music comes back on and I still can't get any audio from the phone at all. It's really annoying

Hello Team,

I am from Bangalore India. I have Asus Zenfone running stock Android 9 kernel version updated on May 14. I have installed Android auto v 4.5.59 , did all the cache clean up but the problem below still exists. Steps to reproduce

a) Open Android auto in my phone and not connected to car. Even if I connect to car same issues below

b) Call a contact

c) It opens up the calling screen but doesn't call

d) Exit the Android auto but don't disconnect the call in Android auto.

e) phone opens up default phone app and calls the number.

Seems Android auto app is not communicating or sending the information to default phone app

I have a Google Pixel 3

Cannot answer incoming calls.

I was hoping the new Android Auto update (ver. 4.5.592854) would help-

and No. I still cannot answer phone calls.

i also have a 2018 f150 with sync 3 on pixel 4xl, the following also happened on my pixel 3xl.

i receive a call and i can answer BUT i cannot hear anything nor can they hear me. i have to unplug my phone so it goes back to sync, then turn on privacy mode through sync 3 and hold the phone to my ear, and i can finally have a conversation. this happens every single time.

issue has been happening for over a year

using it on car display 2018 ford f150 xlt with sync 3

android 10...also happened on previous versions of android

android auto version 4.8.594324

play services version 19.8.26

I have the same problem. Samsung s10 and 2018 f150. My wife has same problem with her samsung s10 and 2015 infiniti qx60

Same problem in my new 2020 Ford Explorer ST. I can make one, maybe two calls, then bluetooth "Freezes" The car can't be recognized by any other system when this happens. I have a Samsung S9 with latest software update. Hubby's apple car play does not cause the same issue... Kinda hard to perform a cache clear when driving in a hands free state!

I did the clear cache recommendation - still freezes the Bluetooth. I can make one maybe two calls, then Bluetooth is inaccessible. I cannot add or remove any Bluetooth device when it freezes HELP - Google say something!!
