Android auto doesn't launch on my 2021 RAV4 and pixel 7

I connect the pixel to the car with a cable and android auto doesn't launch. The phone just keeps trying to find the app but never does.

I was looking for the Android Auto app but it seems to be built in from Android 10.

I went to the Pixel 7's Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Android Auto

From there you can + Connect a car

Hope this helps.

  • Error message: No message on car or phone
  • Were you able to connect to Android Auto prior to the issue? Yes a Pixel 5 connected to the same car with the same cable
  • Car / head unit make & model: 2018 Mercedes E- Class
  • Phone make & model: Pixel 7
  • Android OS version: 13
  • Android Auto app version: 9.0.630834-release
  • Google Play services version: 23.10.15 (190400-51766699)

I am so so disappointed with this...

Connect using known good USB C to A cable (same cable used successfully with previous Pixel 5).

AA does not load on the car display. The car recognises a USB device is connected, but AA does not load up.

PLEASE GET THIS FIXED THANK YOU!

New Pixel 7 user. neither i nor the hyundai dealership could get my phone to connect via AA with this new phone. We tried updating the car software, and then even replacing the car's entertainment unit and still no results.

Left apple for this?

Also the Sony Xperia 5III wont't connect with my car. Even I change the cables.
Nothing new. The phone and the car recognize each other but don't connect.
-> My Xperia show the error: change the cable
-> My Car shows, what do you connect. Mirrowlink, Apple etc.

My pixel 7 android auto won't connect to my Hyundai Tucson 2022 to project and only can with USB now. My pixel 4 would connect just fine. Now I can't use my brand new phone with my car. Fix this.

I have a Pixel 6 and have continue to receive error messages and my device disconnecting. It makes it really inconvenient and unsafe when it continually disconnects while I am driving. I drive 2 hours each way every week from Massachusetts to Connecticut and not being familiar with the areas, I constantly need directions. It would be appreciated to have this fixed and not continue to disconnect all the time.

I have 2016 Honda AccordEx and Android Auto was working with Samsung Galaxy S8+. However recently purchased Pixel 7 and it is unable to over-wired interface. It keeps reports as unknown device.
I love Pixel 7 but it makes me uncomfortable in the car.

Is there any workaround solution?

Android Auto isn't compatible

I have a 2022 Ram 1500 with UConnect 5 and a Pixel 7. When I'm streaming a podcast through the Google Podcast app or music through YouTube Music, the audio will sometimes just cutout. The song/podcast doesn't stop playing, just the audio cut. If I pause it and then play it after 5-10 seconds the audio is back. This usually happens in pairs and not just a single event. This just happened to me this week. Everything was updated to the extent it could be to that point and this ongoing issue still occurs.

I FOUND A SOLUTION - hopefully it helps someone else who's given up on connecting a Pixel 7 Pro to Android Auto.

I had the same problem as so many. Brand new P7P and a 2023 Pathfinder which connected to Android Auto without any issues with my old Pixel 5.

Spent several hours this morning doings lots of uninstalls, resetting network connections and other things, updates, and many different cables trying to get Android Auto to connect. Nothing worked. My phone would say it was connected, but the car system didn't recognize anything was connected, or only for a second, then would prompt me to follow the prompts on my phone screen. No prompts because it thought it was already connected. Was completely frustrated and considering returning my new phone and living with the old one till this is resolved.

But.... somewhere I saw someone post that they got an Motorola M1 adapter that allowed them to it over Bluetooth and the adapter connects through the port to the Android Auto.  Within about 2 minutes, tops, I was fully connected again! I resent having to pay for the adapter when it should've never been an issue with a system that was already working fine with an older phone, but at least it's working. Ran seamlessly for hours today so, *knock on wood* I think it's good to go.
