Android Auto stopped working on my car screen after the Android software update on 12th August 2022

I connect my phone with a USB and Android Connect displays on the car screen. I tap it and it asks me to connect via my phone which says Android Auto available and to update. When I tap Update the app closes and car display says to reconnect Android Auto device. This goes round and round. I've tried uninstalling Android Auto on the phone but when I tap uninstall it tells me to update which I do. Again that goes round in circles so I assume it's something to do with the software update on 12th August.

It is very annoying as I now cannot use Waze, stream music etc. Any solutions or ideas as to what has happened and when this will be rectified ? It worked perfectly prior to Friday on Citreon C4 info display

Android Auto was functioning perfectly on every car that I own with a compatible head. Unfortunately, last week, for some unknown reason, my phone no longer connects to any of the 3 systems that I own. If I use my wife's phone in any of those same cars, they connect perfectly. The vehicle I use most often is a Honda Pilot and the head unit claims Android Auto is "loading", however, it does not. I have followed all of the troubleshooting that has been suggested in other reviews, but no change.

Pixel 6 here, Android Auto stopped loading for me yesterday, was working fine before. I have a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit with RCD360 head unit. I have tried several different cables, tried disabling and re-enabling the Android Auto app, clearing cache and user data, all to no avail. When I plug my phone in I  can see that it is trying to connect but after a few seconds I get a message notifying that the device is not compatible with Android Auto.

It's unfortunate that this problem has popped up for so many after the new release. Hopefully it gets fixed in a timely manner. For now I have to use bluetooth which isn't so bad but it's much easier to use AA.

As a side note my Pixel 6 has been giving me problems over the past few months. Not sure if this is related to the Android Auto issue, but my Pixel 6 likes to drop connection often and a restart is required to get it back together. It's very irritating especially when driving and using Android Auto. Was considering a trade-in but no carriers seem to even want this phone to trade for some reason. Anyway I hope things get ironed out. It was a good phone for a while but all the issues are starting to pile up and make for a sour experience.

No Error message. Just won't connect.

Started problems with Android 13 update August 19th
Android Auto 7.8.622514
Playstore Version: 31.9.13-21 [o] [PR] 467268234

My phone stopped connecting the the display immediately after updating to Android 13. I then tried to fix it by updating Android Auto. My phone and car recognize each other and attempt to connect. I then successfully connect the two according to my phone, but the car display never brings up Android Auto.

Here's the stretch but it's too coincidental not to add. The exact same time I did the updated my cars software also bugged out. I no longer have guiding lines in my reverse cam, no reverse cam options, and my parking sensor display doesn't work correctly. I know it has nothing to do with Android Auto but I really feel like somehow my phone bugged the car. Either way I'm getting the car checked soon and going to trouble shoot at the dealer and see if I can recreate the software bugs in my car when I reconnect Android Auto.

Please keep us updated. Android Auto was working fine for me before this without issue since the beginning of July using Android 12. If there's a way to rollback to Android 12 so that I can continue using Android Auto until the problem is fixed I'd appreciate some info.
