Android auto not loading on head unit with Galaxy S20+ on current version

When i plug my phone into my head unit, i can see the phone screen flicker once and then the android auto icon is showing in the notification telling me to use android auto on my car. However it won't load anything on the head unit, it just keeps showing it's trying to connect to android auto.

This is happening on the update since February or so, if I sideload version 5 of android auto then it doesn't have this issue.

Hi thanks for the reply. But as I mentioned in my post, the issue is resolved when reverting back to version 5.x. This indicates it is not a problem connectivity.

I'm having the same issue on my Galaxy 20FE with a 2019 Subaru Outback. Replaced the cords, Uninstalled and reinstalled the AA app with all updates. My phone did a system update on April 20 and then started the issue with a flicker on the car screen and my phone indicating the app is running but AA being "greyed" out as an available app on the car screen.

I had the exact same issue today in my mazda 2 I had to remove the car from my phone totally and re-add to get Andriod auto to detect the head unit. Andriod auto started on the phone without issue but not transfer to the head unit  until I had completed the steps

I have suffered the same issue since Feb 2021.
I could use AA smoothly before Feb with my Samsung Note20 Ultra, but after AA updated, it could not pop up the app to car head anymore.
It shown everything connected, but only Audi Smartphone Interface cannot connect.
I feedback this to the community but they keep telling the routine steps, but no further action to be done.
I think Android team should resolve this matter immediately as this matter seems affect world-wide and already a common issue.

I tried the uninstall and reinstall the car on yhe app, and it connected for about 2 minutes then simply shut off. A big issue when I'm trying to drive my kid to sporting events and I need the directions. I've tried a new cable, uninstalling and reinstalling the app completely, uninstalling and reconnecting the car in the app, etc. Nothing has resolved this and its been weeks. I hope they fix this soon.

Yet another sufferer of the unacknowledged (since January) issue between Android Auto 5.9+ on recent Samsung phones (on Android 11) with many head units.

I had to downgrade back down to my 4 year old Redmi phone or downgrade to AA 5.8 to get things working on recent Samsung phones. Now considering to sell my Samsung (S21) which seems to be discriminated against by Goggle Android Auto team.

Brands like Oneplus gets much better attention on this community forum.

Also seem to be having this issue using a Note 10+ (Android 11) in a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. It's been happening since about May 5th for me.

If Google could actually acknowledge that this issue exists would be a tremendous help.

Working now after clearing cache.

It still requires restarting to work sometimes however.
