If you’ve been using the Android Auto app on your phone screen, you’ll need to switch to Google Assistant’s Driving mode, a new integrated driving experience.  If your car is compatible with Android Auto, you can still connect directly to your car’s display.   Learn about other ways that Google is ready to make your drive better.

Get started with Android Auto

Android Auto brings apps to your phone screen or car display so that you can focus while you drive. You can control features like navigation, maps, calls, text messages and music.

If your vehicle is not compatible with Android Auto on your car display, you can accomplish many of the same tasks using Google Assistant’s Driving mode on your phone. To get more information about your car’s compatibility with Android Auto on your car display, contact your vehicle manufacturer.
Important: Android Auto isn't available on devices that run Android (Go edition).
