Find my phone app
Does anyone know of an article or video or something that better explains how to actually USE it..not just what it does.
Thanks

Hey
If you lose an Android phone or tablet, or Wear OS watch, you can find, lock, or erase it. If you've added a Google Account to your device, Find My Device is automatically turned on. If you allow Find My Device to encrypt your phone's most recent location and store it with Google, your device’s most recent location is available to the first account activated on the device.

There are actually two main "Find My" applications, depending on what kind of phone you have:
-
Find My Device (Android): This app helps you locate, secure, or erase your lost Android phone or tablet.
-
Find My (iPhone): This app helps you locate, play a sound on, or erase your lost iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch.
Before you lose your phone:
-
Android: Make sure "Find My Device" is enabled on your phone. This is usually under Security Settings in your phone's main settings menu. You'll also need to make sure Location is turned on.
-
iPhone: Enable "Find My" in your iCloud settings. This is usually under your name at the top of the Settings app, then tap "Find My."
After you lose your phone:
-
Android: On another phone, tablet, or computer, go to https://www.google.com/android/find or open the "Find My Device" app and sign in with your Google account. You should then see your lost device's location on a map. From there, you can:
- Ring your device at full volume, even if it's on silent.
- Secure your device with a lock screen and message.
- Erase all your data from the device (as a last resort).
-
iPhone: Open the "Find My" app on another Apple device or go to https://www.icloud.com/find and sign in with your iCloud account. You should then see your lost device's location on a map. From there, you can:
- Play a sound on your device.
- Get directions to your device's location.
- Put your device in Lost Mode, which locks it with a passcode and displays a message on the screen.
- Erase all your data from the device (as a last resort).
If you're still unsure which app you have or how to use it, let me know what kind of phone you have (Android or iPhone) and I can provide more specific instructions.
NOTE- ONLY click the "Recommend or Like" button below if you feel the above information was of actual value to you in resolving your issue. Thanks again.
