"Route to Voicemail" suddenly disappeared from google contacts. How can i get it back!!

Android Galaxy Star 7- " route to voicemail" option disappeared from each of my google contacts. It was there two days ago. How do I get it back? I tried to find it in the Google Contacts Setting but had no luck . I prefer to use that instead of blocking contacts.

It is related to the Android OS as it's happened across multiple Google devices. It's not just one phone manufacturer so yes, this is an android talking to google/contacts problem... aka, an OS issue.

From another post, it looks that the option has been removed and this may not be realized. Send a bug report to Google with screenshots showing the problem. I will try to access the feature from my computer tomorrow as I have persons I need to unroute to vm.

This appears to be an Android update bug or feature removal issue across ALL devices running Android 13 OS with recent updates.

Send feedback to Google using your About Phone option in your phone settings. The more complaints they get about the loss of this feature, the faster they'll fix it!

I have the same issue on a Samsung A71. I noticed the Icon for contacts changed from blue to white.

Same issue on Samsung fold4. Contacts have been permanently routed to voicemail. There is now no option to route them back!

Had the same problem.

There is one way to restore the "Route to voicemail" feature. You need to uninstall the updated Contacts app.

I just followed these easy instructions and can now "Unroute to voicemail" the numbers that I had sent to VM.

This is only a temporary workaround. As soon as the app updates, you'll lose the feature again. Send feedback to Google using your phone setting: "About Phone" then scroll all the way down to: "Send Feedback About This Device" setting.

Disable auto updates on the app and spam the store reviews.
