onyx boox nova air is not play protect certified. play store does not open

I want just run Google Play Store on the device. I did everything mentioned on Internet. Got GSF ID couple days before, restarted many times. Play Store says: This device isn't Play Protect certified. Other people with the same device do not have this problem. Chrome, Gmail and such apps work well.

Hi,

Welcome to the Android help community.

Please use this information (<--Click it) to learn more about the Play Protect certification. It covers everything really well and does include why and what to do.  Installing a custom ROM, sideloading apps, using APKs, etc.. are all things that remove the certification from your device.

However, sometimes you can use a custom ROM and get certified by following this information (<--Click it).

Note: Is your device a Huawei? Please read this additional information (<--Click it) about Huawei and Google Apps and Services.

Kind Regards,

James

It seems somewhere between v24.1.31-21 and the latest (27.6.16-22) there was a change that caused this to happen.

My Nova Air arrived last week and I had the same issue. Restoring the factory version (24.1.31-21) made the issue go away until the device auto updated again.

Same issue on my BOOX Max Lumi. I'm really not looking Google right now. $900 for a device running Android 10 and I can't get certified...

Just got a new Onyx Boox Nova Air yesterday. Same issue. Note 2 is working fine.

This is very frustrating.

I got my Nova Air some days ago and was confronted to the same problem. I asked to Boox help and they provided me a document to successfully activate Google Play Store. Basically you have to go to settings, application info, then use the upper 3 dots to activate a menu called "show system". Then you have to "clear storage" in the "storage and cache" section for 1) google play services 2) google play store and 3) google services framework.
Then you can activate Google Play in the main settings, login to your account, register the GSF ID and it worked for me.
The point is that for some reason, moon reader is not available in Google play and I don't understand why.
