Roles

Google Analytics uses roles to manage access to your account. There are 2 types of roles:

  • Direct roles are explicitly assigned to a user for a specific account or property.
  • Effective roles are the combination of direct roles and roles inherited from other resources, such as a user group or an account that includes the current property. Effective roles determine a user’s actual access level.

Roles:

  • Administrator
  • Editor
  • Marketer
  • Analyst
  • Viewer

Each role can be granted at the account or property level.
