About direct debit daily spending limits

A temporary daily spending limit may be applied to your account if your account uses direct debit for payment in a Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) country, and Google Ads detects unusual or suspicious activity from your account.

What you can expect

When a daily spending limit is applied to your account, you’ll receive in-account and email notifications about the new limit. The spending limit will take precedence over any campaign budgets you’ve set, and it’ll be in effect for approximately 8 weeks.

Once we’ve confirmed your account is safe, the spending limit will be removed, and you’ll be updated via in-account and email notifications.

If you believe your account is safe, see below for steps you can take to speed up the removal of your account’s spending limit, or to request a higher daily spending limit.

Speed up the removal of your daily spending limit

  1. Add a credit card under "Payments method", and make it the primary payment method for your Google Ads account.
  2. Remove your bank account from "Payments method" in your Google Ads account.

Once you complete these steps, the daily spending limit should be removed from your account within 5 business days. You’ll be updated via in-account and email notifications. Note that if your account has a credit, the daily spending limit may stay on your account until the remaining credit is spent.

Request a higher daily spending limit

Submit the Daily spending limit increase request form. You’ll receive an update within 2 business days, via in-account and email notifications. We’ll also continue to monitor your account, and if it’s confirmed safe, you can expect a removal of the daily spending limit approximately 8 weeks from the date it was first applied to your account.
