Update to account pausing for advertiser identity verification (September 2020)

In September 2020, we will be updating the advertiser identity verification policy with an additional requirement for certain advertisers to ensure that our users understand who is providing the advertised services or products on Google Ads.

We may pause advertiser accounts immediately and require them to complete advertiser identity verification if we suspect that they violate certain Google Ads policies, including Misrepresentation or Unidentified business. Accounts will remain paused until the verification programme is completed. Once completed, any ads that are policy-compliant will be able to serve.
