In April 2026, Google Ads will update the country-specifics of the Healthcare and medicines policy to allow certified online pharmacies to promote prescription drug services in India.
To promote prescription drug services in India, online pharmacies will need to be certified by LegitScript’s Healthcare Merchant Certification Program. Advertisers targeting India may not promote prescription drugs in ads or landing pages.
Advertisers must also apply to Google following LegitScript certification. Applications for India will open when the policy is updated.
Violations of this policy will not lead to immediate account suspension without prior warning. A warning will be issued at least 7 days prior to any suspension of your account. Learn more about Google Ads account suspensions overview.
