I am unable to add a payment method 0 Recommended Answers 12 Replies 8 Upvotes

Here is my problem. I have reached my payment threshold on AdSense and therefore wanted to cash out my first paycheck. Therefore, I did the following to attempt to retrieve my funds:

Payment > Add Payment Method which prompts me to the following text:

"You'll need edit access on this payments profile in order to complete this task. Visit the payments settings page and click "manage payments users" to find the admin who can grant this permission to you. If you've already requested this permission, check your email to accept it.”

As prompted, I then go to Payments > Manage Settings > Manage Payment Users

Here, I am unable to add, remove or change payment users. All I see is that under contact details, it shows my old AdSense account Gmail (I have deleted this account roughly a year ago). Therefore, I cannot login to “grant the permission” I am supposed to grant.

What do I do now? I am certain I transferred all necessary info over before deleting the old Gmail.

Hi EFG: that sounds frustrating. Am I understanding correctly that your Google Payments profile shows your old deleted Google account as the admin?

On your Payments Manage Users page, what do you see as the status of the email you used to sign in to the Payments account?  Click it for details.

Have you tried recovering the old Google account? Instructions: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6236295?hl=en

If you deleted it a year ago, it's unlikely to be recoverable, but it's worth at least a try.

It is very frustrating indeed! That is correct. The physical address and everything is correct, however below where it says "Payments users", the primary contact is my old Gmail.

On the Payments Manage Users page, I see:
Permissions: Read Emails Only.
Email preferences: All payments Email
Primary contact is checked.

Recovering the Google account was unfortunately unsuccessful.
That is why it is so frustrating I cannot reach anyone at AdSense. The situation is somewhat unique, but other support channels with in-person contact via chat/E-mail send me back to the forum.

I will ask AdSense to take a look into this for you.

Are you signed into the forum here with the same email you use to sign in to AdSense? If not, please sign in to that account and post a comment in this thread.

Hi I have a similar issue to the one above. I’ve received several emails stating my payments are on hold but when I tried to log in, it says I don’t have an account associated with the email.

I just opened up another account with the same email address but I can’t find the payment profile ID that is showing in my email.

Any help?

Kendall: that sounds like you might not be signing in to Google and AdSense with the correct email username. If the notification you received was via email, check the email headers to be sure it wasn't forwarded from a different account.

Thanks Peggy. Here is the email I got and it’s the same email I am using now to message you.

Kendall: please try checking the headers, to make sure it wasn't forwarded from another account.

Then, when you try to sign in to AdSense, try starting from an Incognito or Private Browsing window.

If you do that, what exactly do you see when you try to sign in to AdSense?

Hi Peggy,

Thanks again for reaching out to AdSense for me. Are they still investigating? It has been a long time and I rely on AdSense payments for my server costs.

Thank you!
