Our site was just banned for

Violations found:
Valuable inventory: Templated page:

I've looked at the other posts people have made on this topic here and all of those sites it's pretty obvious what the problem is.  In our case, I don't see what they're talking about at all.  We have very few ads at all, our entire business is about writing and publishing dense, long form articles.  So basically every page is just tons of content with a couple of ads.

Take a look at let me know if you guys see something I'm missing, because I'm pretty stumped!

So you are in some way recycling netflix contents for your own commercial interests? Who allowed you to do that?

"Templated" could in some cases plainly mean "stolen". Not sure if that's the case here - but I strongly suspect it is.

No we don't have any Netflix content of any kind on the site.  We are a review site, so we review shows on Netflix writing our own original reviews.  But not sure what you're referencing about Netflix content.

We do LINK to the Netflix content ON Netflix when we review something on Netflix.  But that is a link directly to Netflix.  Is that what you're talking about?

Here's the full text of the violation we got, maybe that will help someone figure this out.

Hello,

This email is to alert you that your publisher account (Publisher Code: pub-5908537285259979) was found to be non-compliant with the AdSense program policies and as a result, it has been disabled. Because of this, the ability to serve and monetize through all products which depend on AdSense will be disabled (for example, AdMob and YouTube).
We continually review all publishers according to our program policies. During a recent review of your account, our specialists found that it was not in compliance with the following policies:

As stated in our Program policies, we may not show Google ads on pages or apps with little to no value and/or excessive advertising until changes are made. This includes but is not limited to mirroring or framing content from other sources without adding value.

Pages like this one https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/tech/drones-for-beginners.html (as an example & there are others) looks templated to me since it doesn't appear that there was much value added to the product descriptions that are posted elsewhere.

gdd, thanks a ton for your reply.

The page you referenced contains entirely uniquely written descriptions and reviews of products... unless a writer managed to slip something by me that is.  But I've done checks and I don't see the content duplicated anywhere... if you've found duplicates please let me know.  Additionally it's a content rich page, with over 1000 words in the article and lots of relevant images.

My understanding was that (and please let me know if I'm wrong about this) that "templated pages" meant you had pages with little to no content on them and just ads, or you had plagiarized content.  It seems you're suggesting it also means that the content on the page must add something that isn't found anywhere else?

That's a bit confusing to me. If Digital Trends reviews a product and we also review a product in our own words... I would not think that would be a negative... but applying that standard would make it seem like it is.

If that's so then I guess that could be a sort of grey area on this page.  You are right there are others like it... but not many.  Out of our nearly 20,000 articles on the site I only found four that are similar to this.  Here they are:

And then I found another 5 or so which are not quite the same but I guess could have been borderline.

Basically that means worst case we have max 9 pages of content that might be sort of grey area out of 20,000 pages.

Is that normally a reason for Adsense to ban?  And if so, is best practice here just to remove those pages.
