Ad code implementation

Choose the ad load for your Auto ads

Ad load lets you control the number of ads you show on your pages. We offer different levels of ad load so you can choose the one that best suits your requirements. The ad load you choose determines the number of in-page Auto ads that Google places on your pages. For example, if you're looking to earn as much as possible from Auto ads you might move the slider to the top. If user experience is a higher priority for you, you might move the slider lower.

Tip: When you change the ad load, the ads settings preview is updated accordingly. Check the Auto ads counter in the URL bar, to see how many Auto ads now appear on your page.

What's the difference between ad load and ad balance?

Here are the main differences between the ad load and ad balance controls:

  • Ad load controls the number of ad placements on your page, whereas ad balance reduces the number of ads that are shown in those ad placements by only showing the ads that make you the most money.
  • Ad load only affects in-page Auto ads, whereas ad balance applies to all ads (Auto ads, ad units, etc.) that are served through your account.

Note that both controls can affect the number of ads appearing on your pages.
