How to check your ad code is correct if your ads are blank

During the approval process for AdSense for content ads, your ad units will be blank until you've completed the review step. Please note that it's necessary for you to place the ad code to be reviewed on the site or URL that you signed up with, otherwise the review process will not continue.

You need to place your ad code on a page that has content and receives regular visitors. Please don’t place your ad code on an empty test page that doesn't receive any traffic.

Remember to implement your ad code exactly as it appears on the Ads page of your AdSense account. For help implementing your ad code, see our Code implementation guide.

Once you've implemented the ad code, you can check your blank ad units in two ways:

  • If you've placed your ad unit near or within the content of your page, the other content will shift to make room for the ad unit, in the ad unit size that you selected.
  • When you highlight the entire content of the page (e.g., CTRL+A on Microsoft Windows, or +A on a Mac), the blank ad units will be visible — again, in the size of the ad unit that you selected.

If these methods do not show you your ad units, please check again that you've implemented the ad code exactly the way it appears in your account.
