How to request a replacement cheque

There are two reasons that you might need to request a replacement cheque:

  • Your cheque has not arrived.
  • Your cheque cannot be deposited or it has expired
My cheque didn't arrive. What can I do?
There are two main reasons why your cheque might not have arrived:
  • The cheque went to the wrong address. In this case, you'll need to change the payee information in your AdSense account before you request a new cheque.
  • The cheque may have been misplaced by your country's postal service.

To request a replacement of your cheque, follow these steps:

  1. Wait 60 days
We anticipate that publishers will receive their cheques approximately two to four weeks after the mailing date. However, it may take longer depending on the postal service in your location. If you need to request a replacement cheque, then please wait 60 days from the date of issue. For more information about the delivery of cheques, see Receiving payments by cheque.
  2. Request a cheque reissue
You can request a cheque reissue directly from your AdSense account:
    1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
    2. Click Payments and then Payments info.
    3. On your 'Transactions' page, find the issue date and current status of your cheque. If your cheque still hasn’t been cashed after 60 days, then you’ll see a 'reissue payment' link next to the cheque’s status.
    4. Click reissue payment and confirm that you want to reissue the payment.

A new line item appears showing that the cheque has been stopped and that your reissue is in progress.
My cheque arrived but I can't deposit it. What should I do?

There are two main reasons why you might not be able to deposit your cheque:

  • The cheque has expired. Depending on your country, AdSense cheques are valid for six to 12 months from their date of issue. If you do not deposit your cheque within this timeframe, then your earnings will be credited back to your account and your payments will be put on hold. If you are affected by a payment hold, then please follow the instructions at the foot of this page: Receiving payments by cheque
  • The cheque is incorrect. In this case, you might need to amend the payee information in your AdSense account.

Other issues with cheques

The 'Reissue payment' link hasn’t appeared in my account
If the 'Reissue payment' link hasn't appeared in your account after 60 days, then this means that your cheque has been deposited. For this reason, we're unable to continue processing your request for a reissue. Please review your bank records for this payment or contact your bank directly to investigate the issue.
Where can I find my cheque information?
To find your cheque information:
  1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
  2. Click Payments and then Payments info.
  3. On your 'Transactions' page, locate the line item for your check and click the 'Automatic payment' link. The 'Automatic payment' link in Google Ad Sense.
A payment receipt opens showing the payment number, date and amount.
I never deposited my old cheques
Due to an update to our payments system, we've now cancelled all old cheques that were never cashed, and have returned the balance to your account. The credited balance will be paid out along with your next payment (as long as you have no holds on your account and you've met the payment threshold).

Rest assured that no earnings have been lost during this process, and the credited amount will be issued via your current form of payment. Please refrain from depositing any old cheques you might have received, as your bank may charge you fees for depositing a stopped/expired cheque.

Remember that cheque payments are no longer supported in countries where Bank Transfer is available. This is because bank transfer payments are a faster, more efficient and more environmentally-friendly form of payment.

My bank won’t accept my AdSense cheques
Because policies vary between banks, we're not able to determine if a specific bank is able to accept your AdSense cheques. All payment cheques are issued by Citibank. If you receive cheques in US Dollars, then please enquire at your bank regarding whether they have a correspondent relationship with Citibank. This relationship is required to process our US Dollar cheques. Please note that Google AdSense cheques are for deposit only, and can't be cashed.

Additionally, please be aware that different banks often take different lengths of time to clear cheques. We suggest contacting your bank directly for more information.
