How to request a check reissue

There are two reasons you might need to request a check reissue:

  • Your check did not arrive.
  • Your check cannot be deposited or it has expired
My check didn't arrive. What can I do?
There are two main reasons why your check might not have arrived:
  • The check went to the wrong address. In this case, you'll need to change the payee information in your AdSense account before you request a new check.
  • The check may have been misplaced in the postal service of your country.

To request a reissue of your check, follow these steps:

  1. Wait 60 days
We anticipate that publishers will receive their checks approximately 2-4 weeks after the mailing date. However, it may take longer depending on the postal service in your location. If you need to request a reissue of your check, please wait 60 days from the date of issue. For more information about the delivery of checks, see Receiving payments by check.
  2. Request a check reissue
You can request a check reissue directly from your AdSense account:
    1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
    2. Click Payments and then Payments info.
    3. On your "Transactions" page, find the issue date and current status of your check. If your check still hasn’t been cashed after 60 days, you’ll see a "Reissue payment" link next to the check’s status.
    4. Click Reissue payment and confirm that you want to reissue the payment.

A new line item appears showing that the check has been stopped and that your reissue is in progress.
My check arrived but I can't deposit it. What should I do?

There are two main reasons why you might not be able to deposit your check:

  • The check has expired. Depending on your country, AdSense checks are valid for 6-12 months from their date of issue. If you do not deposit your check within this timeframe, your earnings will be credited back to your account and your payments will be put on hold. If you are affected by a payment hold, please follow these instructions at the bottom of this page: Receiving payments by check
  • The check is incorrect. In this case, you might need to amend the payee information in your AdSense account.

Other issues with checks

The "Reissue payment" link doesn’t appear in my account
If the "Reissue payment" link doesn’t appear in your account after 60 days, this means that your check has been deposited. For this reason, we're unable to continue processing your request for a reissue. Please review your bank records for this payment or contact your bank directly to investigate the issue.
Where can I find my check information?
To find your check information:
  1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
  2. Click Payments and then Payments info.
  3. On your "Transactions" page, locate the line item for your check and click the "Automatic payment" link. The "Automatic payment" link in Google Ad Sense.
A payment receipt opens showing the payment number, date, and amount.
I never deposited my old checks
Due to an update to our payments system, we've now cancelled all old checks that were never cashed, and have returned the balance to your account. The credited balance will be paid out along with your next payment (as long as you have no holds on your account and you've met the payment threshold).

Rest assured that no earnings have been lost during this process, and the credited amount will be issued via your current form of payment. Please refrain from depositing any old checks you might have received, as your bank may charge you fees for depositing a stopped/expired check.

Remember that check payments are no longer supported in countries where Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is available. This is because EFT payments are a faster, more efficient, and more environmentally-friendly form of payment.

My bank won’t accept my AdSense checks
Because policies vary between banks, we're not able to determine if a specific bank is able to accept your AdSense checks. All payment checks are issued by Citibank. If you receive checks in U.S. dollars, please inquire at your bank regarding whether they have a correspondent relationship with Citibank. This relationship is required to process our U.S. dollar checks. Please note that Google AdSense checks are for deposit only, and can't be cashed.

Additionally, please be aware that different banks often take different amounts of time to clear checks. We suggest contacting your bank directly for more information.
