Request a check reissue

This article describes how to find check information in your AdSense account, including whether a check was issued and how to request a reissue if your check is missing, expired, or incorrect. You can also find general information about receiving payments by check.

Check payments are no longer supported in countries where Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is available, which is faster and more efficient. Learn how to change your payment method.

Missing, expired, canceled, or incorrect checks

Missing checks

There are two main reasons why your check might not have arrived:

  • The check went to the wrong address. In this case, you'll need to change the payee information in your AdSense account before you request a new check.
  • The check may have been misplaced in the postal service of your country.

Expired, canceled, or incorrect checks

There are two main reasons why you might not be able to deposit your check:

  • The check has expired. Depending on your country, AdSense checks are valid for 6-12 months from their date of issue. If you do not deposit your check within this timeframe, your earnings will be credited back to your account and your payments will be put on hold. Learn what to do for payments on hold for an expired check.
  • The check is canceled. Balances for any canceled old checks are returned to your account and paid out with your next payment (as long as you have no holds on your account and you've met the payment threshold).
  • The check is incorrect. In this case, you might need to amend the payee information in your AdSense account.

Request a check reissue

Note: You should receive checks approximately 2-4 weeks after the mailing date. However, it may take longer depending on the postal service in your location. The option to reissue a check is only available 60 days after the issue date.

To request a reissue of your check from your AdSense account:

  1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
  2. Click Payments, then Payments info, then View transactions.
  3. On your "Transactions" page, find the issue date and current status of your check. If your check still hasn't been cashed after 60 days, you'll see a "Reissue payment" link next to the check's status.
  4. Click Reissue payment and confirm that you want to reissue the payment. A new line item appears showing that the check has been stopped and that your reissue is in progress.

When to contact your bank

If the "Reissue payment" link doesn't appear in your account after 60 days, your check may have been deposited and unable to be reissued. Review your bank records for the payment or contact your bank directly to investigate the issue.

Because policies vary between banks, we're not able to determine if a specific bank is able to accept your AdSense checks. All payment checks are issued by Citibank. If you receive checks in U.S. dollars, please inquire at your bank regarding whether they have a correspondent relationship with Citibank. This relationship is required to process our U.S. dollar checks. Please note that Google AdSense checks are for deposit only, and can't be cashed.

Additionally, please be aware that different banks often take different amounts of time to clear checks. We suggest contacting your bank directly for more information.
