In addition to blocking ads, ad blocking extensions may occasionally block user messages, including GDPR and CPRA messages. You can include the error protection code between the <head>
and </head>
tags in your site's HTML to let site visitors know when a user message is being blocked.
When the error protection code is present in your site's HTML, AdSense Privacy & messaging will display a backup message to site visitors if the following conditions are met:
- Visitors have ad blocking software or an extension installed, and
- Requests to Privacy & messaging are blocked or interfered with.
If both of these conditions are met, visitors will see the following message (always in English):
You are seeing this message because ad or script blocking software is interfering with this page. Disable any ad or script blocking software, then reload this page.
This message is pinned to the bottom of your site's pages. It doesn't prevent site visitors from viewing your content. Note that this message may be displayed even if you don't currently have an ad blocking message published on your site.
