About ads based on websites you've visited
We want to make our ads as relevant and as useful as possible for you. One way we do this is by offering advertisers the ability to personalize their search ads on Google for people who have visited their websites.
Elizabeth is an artist. She often visits the website of Art's, an art supply store. Art's would like to personalize its ads on Google for the artists who've previously visited its site. So Art's uses a Google service that puts advertising cookies on the browsers of visiting artists like Elizabeth. Later, when Elizabeth searches on Google for a new set of oil paints, she sees personalized ads from Art's that encourage her to return to Art's site.
We don’t allow advertisers to show ads based on sensitive information, such as those based on race, religion, sexual orientation, health, or sensitive financial categories.
If you prefer not to receive this type of advertising, you can always opt out by visiting the “Ads Personalization” setting in your Ads Settings. After you opt out, Google won't show you personalized ads, including ads based on visits to advertiser websites.
