Hello Team
I am using Google Admobs with ad mediations in my iOS application.
I have UICollectionView with GADBAnnerView in every 6th indexes.
It seems like there is battery draining issue because Google Ads are running even when app is in background.
Is there something that i have to do to Pause google Ads when app enters background and resume when app become active.
Thanks in advance.

I have a same issue.
If look into battery usage in iPhone, It says an app is running in background task.
Yesterday, It ran 12 hours in background.
I don't know whether "bannerView.isHidden = true" is enough in background mode.
I'm testing now if the above line is effective.

Hello, we encountered the very same problem.
Users complained that out application is being active in the background and draining battery so much, so we dig deeper into this issues and found it is caused by Google Ads.

We use Google Ad Manager to display several DFPBannerViews in UITableView. When application enters background, it is never suspended and keeps running.

In recent releases we upgraded Google-Mobile-Ads-SDK pod to newer version. We did some tests and found that Google-Mobile-Ads-SDK version 7.53.1 is the last one working fine, while the newer releases prevents application sleeping when backgrounded.

It seems that the background issue still happens on Google-Mobile-Ads-SDK version 7.53.1 obj-c on my app.

We've received about 15 reports from users, including screenshots of the Battery Report showing our app running non-stop in the background for hours. We don't even have background permission. If we disable AdMob (remotely) for those users, the problem immediately goes away. This started mid-April.

We're having the same issue in several apps.

A lot of resources use in background that disappears just removing the Google SDK.
Users complaining, giving us bad ratings and uninstalling our apps.
