Invalid Traffic On Payments

I recently checked my payments for the last few months and noticed that a significant amount of my payment gets deducted under "Invalid Traffic - AdMob Applications - AdWords Ads." I know in the Google policy it says this can come from invalid clicks, however, this is not coming from anyone on the dev team. My account has not been limited in any way, and there is no anomalies in the number of clicks I am receiving.

For reference, last month about 45% of my payment got deducted because of this.

Hello Lucas

Bad ad placement can also cause invalid activity.
For example, if you place banners very close to places on the interface where the user interacts a lot, the user may accidentally click.
Make sure to place enough margin for the banners.
Showing an interstitial at an unexpected time can also cause accidental clicks.
Clicks that did not happen due to a genuine user desire will result in invalid activity.

We are seeing a huge increase in invalid traffic since sometime in May. For July it is over 40% (500x the Q1 average). app-ads.txt was implemented in February. Android-only, interstitial, mostly EU + US traffic.

I have the same issue .. 20% of invalid traffic for the last two months !!
Google must do something .. or we will have to change the platform.

Having the same issue. First ECPM dropped to floor, now invalid activities came out of nowhere.

I've been getting the same. I lost over 50% of my revenue this month to "Invalid Traffic - AdMob Applications - AdWords Ads".

I've added banners to each screen in our Android and iOS apps.

Last month is the first month that the amount deducted was out of normal, but this month it was a big part of my earnings, 30%. Could someone from Admob address this issue?, it is a really big concern. I need to wait all the month to find out how much is going to be deducted from my revenue, under invalid traffic justification, want to avoid this.

Same here. My payment was cut off by 56%. @Google appreciate if you correct this. If you know this is a bad placement or whatever, then why are you showing the ad and charging the advertiser? you should have stop showing the ad and it will save advertiser cost as well. :) This is unethical and need clear explanation without deducting the payment at the end of the month.

Mine got slashed by 40%. In my case the eCPM is out of wack. It has gone way up. This is most likely on Google's part as they are probably adjusting their algorithms. The stats don't match up as the impressions are lower than the clicks i received. I see some people experienced this from the beginning of the year while I only noticed this the past month or so.

It is possible that our apps didn't earn as much as Admob stats shows or as much as we would like them to earn. After looking at the reports impressions, eCPM and clicks i see there is a mismatch and i've been using Admob for over 3 years and never seen such high % of invalid traffic. I have never ever seen a eCPM of over 3150 Eur.

Hopefully it will get sorted out. We live in strange times right now and everything seems upside down. Let's have a little faith and patience that things will go back to normal.

I lost all of my income to "Invalid Traffic - AdMob Applications - AdWords Ads" last month.
I've been using admob for over 3 years and I only use banner ads. Moreover, the ad placement hasn't changed since the app's launch.
This is getting worse overtime.
