Mediation (Legacy)

Add a waterfall ad source to a mediation group

We are currently rolling out changes to mediation. For details about these changes, refer to Updates to your Mediation page in AdMob.
After you've created a mediation group, you’ll need to add third-party ad sources to fill the ad requests it will receive.

Select one of the following options below to add a third-party ad network to a mediation group.

Add a waterfall ad source with optimization

Complete the steps below to add a third-party ad network as an ad source in a mediation group.

  1. Sign in to your AdMob account at https://apps.admob.com.
  2. Click Mediation in the sidebar.
  3. Click the name of the mediation group to which you're adding the network.
  4. Click Add ad source in the Waterfall ad sources table.
  5. Find the ad source in the list that appears or begin typing the name of the ad source in the search box. Click Select next to the ad source you want to add. The Optimize option is enabled by default. Note: Some ad networks may not support optimization and this option may not appear. Check the Supports optimization column for information about your ad source.
  6. Enter the credentials required by the ad source you selected. Note: If you've already used this ad network in another mediation group, you won't be asked for the credentials again.
  7. Review and check the Authorization checkbox to authorize AdMob and Google to access your account. Note: If you've previously authorized this ad source, you won't be asked again.
  8. Enter an eCPM to use for this network until AdMob can gather enough data for optimization. The eCPM will be used to dynamically position the network in the mediation chain where it will compete with other ad sources to fill ad requests.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. Enter the mapping details for each ad unit. In most cases, these details will be available in your account with the ad network.
  11. Click Done.

  12. Click Save. The mediation group will be saved.

Don't forget to use the Google Developers guide to implement mediation in your apps. If you don't complete this step, mediation won't be able to fill incoming ad requests.
