Block ads by advertiser URL

This information is for AdMob users only. AdMob is a mobile app advertising platform for app developers. If you don't have an AdMob account, we recommend you:

In AdMob, you can prevent ads from specific advertiser URLs from showing up in your apps. You can block advertiser URLs from showing in specific apps or from all apps in your account.

App-level blocking

To block advertiser URLs in a specific app:

  1. Sign in to your AdMob account at https://admob.google.com.
  2. Click Apps in the sidebar.
  3. Select the name of your app. If you can't find it in the list of recent apps, you can click View all apps to search a list of all of the apps you've added to AdMob.
  4. Click Blocking controls under the name of your app in the sidebar.
  5. Click Manage Advertiser URLs.
  6. Enter the advertiser URLs in the box provided. Click Search.
  7. Use the controls on the page to allow or block URLs. Ads from blocked URLs should stop showing in your app within 24 hours.

Account-level blocking

To block advertiser URLs for all apps in your AdMob account:

  1. Sign in to your AdMob account at https://admob.google.com.
  2. Click Blocking controls in the sidebar.
  3. Click Manage Advertiser URLs.
  4. Enter the advertiser URLs in the box provided. Click Search.
  5. Use the controls on the page to allow or block URLs. Ads from blocked URLs should stop showing in your apps within 24 hours.
The maximum number of apps you can block is 500 for all of your apps and your account.

For example, if you block 5 apps at the account level, and an additional 50 at the app level, then you've blocked 55 of your 500 limit.

You can't use advertiser URL blocking to block the major app stores (for example, Google Play Store or Apple App Store). If you do want to block these stores, contact us.
