Using eCPM Trends

Use eCPM Trends to understand how your apps are performing compared to your peers.

In this article:

Customise your report

You can customise eCPM Trends to show data for different groups of peers. Adjust the peer settings to customise your eCPM Trends report.

Peer settings

By default, your peer settings are selected based on your top earning app. To adjust your settings, click Manage peer settings.

Select categories

By default, your peers are other apps in AdMob that are in the same category as your app and the same platform (Android or iOS).

Categories define the type of app, such as gaming or productivity. Subcategories further refine the category of an app. For example, apps in the gaming category can be narrowed down by type of game, such as puzzle games or word games.

You can adjust the peer settings to include multiple categories and subcategories of apps. Tick the box next to the category to include the peer data in your report. You can also click  to view and select subcategories to include.

Select platform

You can also sort your peers by what platform their app is on: Android or iOS. To change this setting, click Platform and select the platforms to include in the report.

Privacy guidelines and considerations

Benchmark calculations are subject to thresholds to protect publisher confidentiality. All publisher data used in benchmark calculations is aggregated and anonymised. Benchmarking data covers publisher performance from AdMob networks, third-party waterfall and bidding and partner bidding.

When data does not meet our privacy guidelines, the report may show partial data in charts and tables. When there is no data that meets our privacy guidelines, the charts and tables will only show 'Your apps' without peer data.

Note that the report externally surfaces the number of apps in each peer group, but the data privacy conditions are determined at the publisher level.

FAQs

Why are some categories greyed out?

Some categories contain too much data. You’ll need to select one or more subcategories to view data about the category that’s greyed out.

I got an error message in my charts. Why can’t I see the data?

You may be using a combination of filters that are too specific and not enough publishers match our privacy guidelines. To protect publisher privacy, we only show data that meets our privacy guidelines

What are the default app and peer settings?

The report defaults to your top app by estimated earnings selected. This will be the data shown in 'Your apps'. Peer settings will default to that app’s categories (may be one or more).

How far back can I see trends?

You can see the last 14 days of benchmark data in the report.

Who is included in trends?

The benchmarks are calculated using data from all AdMob publishers. All data is aggregated, anonymised and strictly adheres to our privacy guidelines.
