Manage consent mode settings

Choose whether to enable consent mode for advertiser and analytics purposes. If enabled, Google’s CMP can interpret your existing EEA, UK, and Swiss user consent choices for consent mode’s advertising purposes (including ad storage, personalization, and user data) and analytics storage. Learn more about consent mode.

Complete the following steps to adjust the legitimate control settings for your European regulations messages:

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Privacy & messaging.
  3. Click Settings on the European regulations message type card.
  4. Adjust the "Consent mode for advertising purposes" settings as needed.
    • Enable consent mode for advertising purposes: Check the checkbox to allow other Google products you deploy on your sites and apps (such as Google Ads and Google Analytics) to interpret your existing EEA, UK, and Swiss user consent signals for advertising purposes, including for ad storage, ad personalization, and ad user data consent signals. checkbox to turn on consent mode for advertising purposes.
    • Enable consent mode for analytics purposes: Check the checkbox to use your existing message to interpret consent for analytics storage, When enabled, your message will gather consent for the analytics storage purpose from users. Only appears if the "Enable consent mode for advertising purposes" checkbox is selected.
  5. Click Save. Your consent mode settings will be updated across all sites and apps for which you have configured European regulations messages.
