  • To include the "Interest capture" user choice in an Offerwall, you must first turn on publisher-provided signals.

Use the "Interest capture" (Beta) user choice to give site visitors more choice in how they access your site and its content and increased transparency and control over their own ads experience.

About the "Interest capture" user choice

When a site visitor chooses the "Interest capture" user choice in an Offerwall, they are presented with a list of interests that are dynamically determined at serving time for each site. These interests are based on past ad performance on your site and other sites, and the interest data is used to improve the overall ad experience on your site.

The site visitor selects all relevant interests from the list, and then clicks "Save" to gain access to your site for a specific amount of time. This option collects first-party data when site visitors select their interests. Interests collected will be automatically passed to aid in ads personalization via your PPS settings.

Turn on publisher-provided signals to use the "Interest capture" user choice

To include the "Interest capture" user choice in an Offerwall, you must first turn on publisher-provided signals. Publisher-provided signals (PPS) allow publishers to scale their first-party audience and contextual data to improve programmatic monetization. This helps publishers better leverage their first-party data for ads personalization in programmatic transactions.

The "Interest capture" user choice uses PPS to collect first-party data when users select their interests. Interests collected will be automatically included in ad requests to aid in ads personalization using your publisher-provided signals settings. Site visitors can delete the interests they’ve selected at any time by deleting the related cookie from their browser.

Complete the following steps to turn on publisher-provided signals.

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Admin, then Global settings.
  3. In the "Ad preference settings", turn on Publisher provided signals (audience and content).
  4. Click Confirm to accept the terms and conditions of turning on this feature.
By turning on publisher provided signals, you are turning on both audience and content.
