Anyone else having a similar problem needs to create their own thread for their situation as this thread is only for the original poster's case.

The only account recovery option Google provides starts at https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery (an account can not be recovered by posting here or contacting Google). Submitting more accurate answers and using a known computer/IP-address will help. This post provides an overview of how account recovery works (you NEED to read this) https://support.google.com/accounts/thread/2307038 and this article provides many more details on the process (you SHOULD read this) http://gmailaccountrecovery.blogspot.com/
But if you can’t correctly answer enough of the questions to prove ownership of the account Google will not give it to you.
Why am i not given the option to fix the account that way?
I don't know. If the backup address is configured on the lost account, the recover process should ask about it.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in Google Accoun help forums,
When you create a new account,
You will receive a welcome email,
If this is saved, check for the date,
Otherwise,
Google is not providing any solution or workaround to find the creation date.

Few people remember their Gmail creation date. It’s just not the type of thing one memorizes. But people are often able to figure it out with a little thought or research. Some ways include:
* Finding the account creation verification e-mail which would have been sent to another account you owned.
* Associating the creation of the account with some life event, like graduation, moving, a change in ISP, etc.
* If it was created as part of a new mobile device setup, check the date on the sales receipt for the device.
* If the account was created for starting mobile device service, check the start date of your mobile contract.
* Asking contacts if they saved a change-of-email message sent from the new Gmail account.
* Checking the creation date of any other accounts opened at the same time, like: PayPal, eBay, etc.
* If you still have access to the account (perhaps on a mobile device) check the All Mail label for the oldest saved messages.
