Manage your Location Sharing settings

You can share your real-time location with contacts of your choice.

What you need 

  • Google Account 
  • Mobile device 
  • Internet connection 
  • Location services turned on for your device 

Note: Location Sharing works differently if a parent or guardian manages your Google Account.

Tip: You need a mobile device to share your real-time location, but you can control your Location Sharing settings from a computer

Location Sharing is available in several Google apps. To get started, you can: 

Important: To share your location through the Trusted Contacts app, you need to turn on Location History.

Stop sharing your location with someone 

  1. Open your Location Sharing settings
  2. Next to the person's name, tap Remove
