Edit your basic account information

To edit your account, just sign in on the Google Accounts homepage.

Email address

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.
  2. In the "Personal info" box, click Email.

Note: It's not possible to change your username if you use Gmail. Learn more

Phone number

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.
  2. In the "Personal info" box, click Phone.

Password

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.
  2. Scroll down to the "Signing in" box.
  3. Click Password.

Personal name, nickname

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.
  2. In the box for "Personal info," click Name.

If you have Google+, you can change your personal name or nickname by clicking Edit profile in the "Personal info" box.

Birthday

If you have a birthday listed on your account, you can update it through Google+.

Timezone

When you travel, you may want to view events in your current location's time zone. To change your time zone, edit your settings in Google Calendar.

Removing products

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.
  2. Scroll down to the "Account management" box.
  3. Click Delete products.
  4. Click the link to delete the product you want to remove.

Note that it's not always possible to remove an individual service. If you'd like to learn more about the options available for a service, visit the Google Help page, where you can find extensive information on specific products.

Deleting your account

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.
  2. Scroll down to the "Account management" box.
  3. Click Delete Google Account and data.
  4. Carefully read the instructions and follow the steps on the page.
  • If you delete your account, you'll permanently delete the Google products associated with that account, such as your Web & App Activity.
  • If you use Gmail with your account, you'll no longer be able to access your inbox, and you won't be able to reuse your Gmail username.
