Clients are replying to my emails in an ongoing thread and I am not receiving them

I've realized that clients are replying to ongoing threads and I am not receiving their emails (I have already lost sales because of this and didn't realize it). They are replying in an ongoing thread in which both of us have successfully sent and received emails from each other, and then for some reason they will send a reply that never gets to me. They can see that it was sent on their end, it is part of the ongoing thread on their end, and they do not receive a bounce message, I just never get it. I have logged out and back into my account, deleted all filters, and have plenty of storage space. Help!

I have a main Gmail address where my Google Workspace domain email is forwarded along with another Gmail address.

-- So, does this happen only with emails sent to your Google Workspace account? If it does were you able to check using ELS (https://support.google.com/a/answer/2618874?hl=en) if the message was received in the intended address but simply not forwarded to your personal Gmail address?

Forwarding is often dependent on https://support.google.com/mail/answer/175365?hl=en for personal Gmail accounts. So, please check if any of the details apply.

First, please confirm this is related to a personal Gmail address or a Google Workspace domain.

Can you include details of the browser, mobile app or the email client where you see this?

Check if any of the browser extensions, add-ons, apps, sites, or software programs specifically with access to that Google Account is causing this.

Here's some more information: Full headers from an email that was sent to me and did not arrive, but said it was sent and did not bounce on the sender's end:

Thanks for the reply Somnath! Yes this is related to a personal Gmail address and a Google Workspace domain. I have a main Gmail address where my Google Workspace domain email is forwarded along with another Gmail address. Never had a problem before and have been using it this way for several years. I'm using Firefox and web-based Gmail. I have not made any recent changes to browser extensions, add-ons, apps, sites, or software programs specifically with access to that Google Account. Is there a way I can check this? Does it make sense that this could cause emails within ongoing threads to get lost? Thanks for your help!

Hi Somnath,

You are correct! Some emails are hitting the intended address and NOT being forwarded. It's only a small portion of the emails and as mentioned, weirdly, it happens to emails in an ongoing thread. Any idea how I can figure out why those particular emails are not being forwarded, and how I can sort to find all those that have not been forwarded so I don't have to go through months of emails and compare them to those forwarded to my personal account?

Thanks!

Considering this is happening with your Google Workspace account, have you checked with your tech/IT team or the domain admin? They might be able to use tools from the Admin Console or contact any support available for the domain to better assist you.

Let me know. If need be, I can move this thread over to the specialized Google Workspace Admin help forum.

We're a tiny business. I guess I am the only Admin. If you could move this thread over for more help that would be terrific. Thanks so much for all your help!

Before I move this over, let me quickly check on a couple of details.
  1. There are reports of automatic forwarding not working from personal Gmail accounts. Let me check if this is affecting Google Workspace domains as well.
  2. Secondly, were you able to check using ELS (https://support.google.com/a/answer/2618874?hl=en) if the message was received in the intended address but simply not forwarded to your personal Gmail address?

I was able to determine that the emails were received by the intended addresses and not forwarded.

Thank you for the details. I am moving this thread over to the specialized Google Workspace Admin help forum where the experts will be able to better assist you. I wish you good luck.
