Turn off all video calling for your organization

You can turn off all video calling for your organization, including Hangouts Meet video meetings. You might want to turn off all video calling if you’re transitioning to another videoconferencing service or removing videoconferencing hardware from a conference room. Depending on how you use Meet, you might not need to complete all of the tasks below.

Turn off all video calling

To turn off all video calling, including Hangouts Meet, classic Hangouts video calls, and video calls from Hangouts chat, see Turn video calling on or off.

Change the optional related settings

If you turn off all video calling, you may need to revise these related settings. 

Remove the Meet add-in for Outlook

If you installed the Hangouts Meet add-in for Microsoft® Outlook®, remove it. For details on turning off an add-in for Outlook, refer to your Microsoft documentation.

Turn off videoconferencing on Jamboards

If you use Jamboard for video meetings, turn off videoconferencing.

Change room resource details

If you added videoconferencing details to a room resource, update that resource to accurately reflect the videoconferencing solution available to users.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Buildings and resources.
  3. Click Manage resources.
  4. Click a room resource.
  5. Click Details or Features to edit the information.
  6. Click Save.

Delete Data Studio reports

If you created any Google Data Studio reports for videoconferencing data, you should delete them. For details, go to Delete a report.

Remove whitelisted Meet servers

If you whitelisted media servers for Meet, you can optionally remove them. For details, go to Prepare your network.
