Move from the classic tool to new Calendar Interop

The classic Calendar Interop tool has been deprecated and will no longer be available from February 28, 2018.

If you're using the classic Calendar Interop tool and want to switch to the new tool, there are some steps you need to follow.

Switch to the new tool

  1. If you're using a domain alias, complete the steps in Set up Calendar Interop using a domain alias.
  2. If you're using Microsoft® Exchange 2010, complete the steps in Set up with Exchange 2010.
  3. Complete steps 3 and 4 in Allow Calendar users to see Exchange free/busy data to create an Exchange role account and set up the Google Admin console.
  4. Complete steps 2 through 5 in Allow Exchange users to see Calendar free/busy data.

You are now switched to the new tool.

  5. Verify your set up to ensure that the new tool is working correctly.

Next, you need to stop Google Calendar from unnecessarily synchronizing user free/busy information to public folders. To do this:

  1. Create an empty CSV file.
  2. In your Admin console, go to Apps and then G Suite and then Calendar.
  3. Click Calendar Interop management.
  4. On the Users tab, select Replace user list and click Select file.
  5. Navigate to the empty CSV file and click Open and then Upload and then Overwrite.
